TECH Program Goes Green at Wake Tech

The John Deere TECH Program continues to grow with Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC, starting its program in 2008.
"We want our students to graduate with a complete understanding of John Deere equipment—from the high tech to the low tech," says Ronnie Lowe, TECH department head and instructor. "Dealers expect qualified entry-level technicians with skills they can build on. We're providing that and so much more."
Wake Tech is a good fit with our nationwide TECH Programs, says Craig Hansen, John Deere manager of college partnerships. “Wake Tech is an excellent school that draws students from a variety of rural and urban areas. Its students bring just the right mix of demographics, geography, and background the John Deere TECH Program strives to achieve.”
Lowe hopes to have 16 students enrolled when TECH Program classes begin next fall. He knows dealerships in the area are constantly searching for qualified service technicians.
“Our TECH students know they’ll build on the basics we teach them here for the rest of their careers,” says Lowe. “There’s no question that our TECH graduates are prepared for the challenges John Deere service technicians face every day.”
Wake Tech, the second largest community college in North Carolina, serves 57,000 students across six campuses.
